Pros: -I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the convenience of these. I wear these as a backup to pads overnight and by themselves on light/”is my period over yet or now?” days. It’s great not having to worry about leaks or staining. I love not having to wear pantiliners for like 5 days after the end of my period in case it decides to make a reappearance. I also especially love not having to double-up on pads at night or wear pantiliners when I use tampons.
(Pro-tip: Do NOT use pads with wings when using these undies, especially at night. Wings have an annoying way of circumventing the leak-proof layer…) -I ordered the small (I believe my hips measured about 36 inches) and they fit perfectly. They don’t seem too thick (you can probably see them through leggings but not jeans). They’re pretty cute too. -I’ve washed them twice, and, so far, they don’t seem to be wearing out or anything.
Neutral: -These don’t carry a “period” smell, but there is definitely an odor to them (maybe something related to the bamboo?). It isn’t a pleasant or unpleasant smell, it’s just a slight…something? I only notice it sometimes, and no one else notices it. -This isn’t really a con, but a characteristic of period underwear that’ll take some getting used to. When you pull these up after using the bathroom, you can definitely feel the “wetness,” more than with pads. It’s a weird sensation to get used to.
Cons: -These take FOREVER to dry since you cannot use a dryer. I’ve been drying these in my (windowless) bathroom, and it easily takes 2-3 days to dry. My dryer has an “air dry” setting, so I’ve been using that to speed things up. You definitely will need to buy more than 1 packet of these if you want to use them during your whole period.
